Tornado mania - Digital chocolate
Haven’t you heard about Tornado Mania yet? What is the world you’ve been living in? It can’t be you haven’t at least heard the rumors of what could be the single best mobile game of 2007.
Unlike others, this game is different: you are evil… wait a minute… good too. Yes, I don’t know exactly… But, that’s actually what I like about this game: you play it just to… play, for fun, not necessarily to unlock something or to finish it. I didn’t finish it, btw. :P.
Let’s see what I’m talking about: the game has 2 parts: the action phase and a construction one, a Sim City phase, or tactical, or you call it whatever you like. The story or at least what I understand from it is the following: You are a mad scientist trying to build an utopian city somewhere in the clouds, where everyone is happy. But to do this you have to “steal” the buildings from the real cities below, by means of your invention: a “tornado machine”. So, basically to build something in your city you must first steal it. The game features a large array of buildings - residential, power plants, commercial, buildings you unlock as you progress in the game.
So, you select the building you want to steal and.. here we go, the good part begins: in a brief amount of time(1 minute) you have to go grab yourself a building. But your tornado starts really small, so you’ll have to “power it up” first - you steal some trees, cars, fences, cows, and some other of other things. When a power bar fills, you are able to lift the buildings you selected before. But you’ll have to be careful doing this, or else the buildings will be damaged; not only does this decrease the happiness of people living there, but it will also alert the police choppers, who will come shoot ice rays into the tornado, making it lose power. Interesting, right? 
Much like Tower Bloxx, Tornado Mania has two games into one: the stealing buildings part is quick and has extremely simple controls(just press the ‘5′ key), demanding only attention and sync; the second part is, as we said, Sim City-like - you have to place buildings on the map, and in order to maximize the inhabitants happiness levels you’ll have to take into account all kind of urbanism considerations.
Lots of unlockable, exciting, and a little tactics/strategy is the right melange for this game, so don’t you dare to miss it 9.5 out of 10, I personally like this game a lot and come back to it every once in a while.
