Transport Tycoon - free Pocket PC game

Who wants a great and free Windows Mobile game? Well… everybody, ain’t it?
That’s the reason why the guys over ESoftInteractive ported to the PDA arena the cool free open source version of the famous 90’s PC game, Transport Tycoon Deluxe.

If you don’t remember it, here’s a quick intro: Transport Tycoon was an amazing economic simulator PC game, where you try to build an industrial empire across the last century. You build roads across towns, railways, ports or airports that carry passengers or merchandise from supplier industries to consumer ones. At each transport you earn money that you use to pay the bank loan or reinvest into better infrastructure. The game evolves through the ages, and the transportation means as well.

I spent hundreds of hours playing the PC version of this game, seduced as I was with the crisp graphics, the economic simulator environment and the brilliant idea. This might explain a bit my enthusiasm towards finding this absolutely free, open source mobile version. Who wouldn’t fall inlove with it?

If only this game was available on my Sony Ericsson J2ME phone, it would make me delirious. In the meantime, though, I recommend all you PocketPC / Palm owners around to hurry up and download the game. Mind you, there’s a bit of research involved: you have to download the Pocket PC / Palm OS 5 game executable from esoftinteractive’s page and the game data files from around the web (apparently there is no public license for this great game’s data). Just go ahead and google them.

If you can’t find them(I can’t), then you still have a chance: just go get/buy the PC version and simply get the data directory files.
