Free Mobile Games for Christmas

It must be the Christmas spirit that’s approaching, or maybe we are just having too much fun. Anyways, this is the time I’ve decided to browse the web in order to provide you with cool mobile games.

Absolutely FREE!

What? Yes, you’ve read it right: what you’ll find below is a growing list of free mobile games repositories all around the world. Off course, I’ll also be delighted to receive comments with your own link submissions. All for the good of mobile gamers everywhere.

So, without further ado, here they are:

  • First of all, our best free mobile games recommendation of the month: Mobile Sudoku
  • Secondly, GetJar is probably the largest resource for freeware or shareware games and mobile apps. There are hundreds of choices, but among the few I downloaded I would name Dynamokid, a tiny Mario Bros clone.
  • The extensive repository over at GameJump There seem to be quite a lot of free, but advertising-sponsored little games. For instance this small AntBully game.
  • Don’t ever forget the huge repository over at MobileRated. While they may not be as cool as we are over at MobiCritic, they are older in the game recommendation job and they too introduce you to plenty of freeware or open-source mobile games, that are reviewed and rated in an extensive manner. In the near future we’ll actually going to show you more of the best free mobile games out there, recommended by us to our readers. In the meantime, here is a brief list of some pretty interesting free mobile games from MobileRated:
      • the open-source JCaro (Gomoku) game
      • the open-source Jamtris (Tetris) game
      • an open-source Asteroids game clone - not too shiny, but fun nonetheless
  • Mobile Playground’s free games repository is a last but not the least game resource, bringing together a list of user-submitted hobby games. I haven’t looked into it too much, but there seem to be plenty of fun games over there as well.
  • Update

    • Midlet-Review also has a pretty interesting list of free mobile games. Take a look, it’s worth the trip!
    • I just found about this, so please don’t throw empty bottles at me: The guys from Clickgamer are giving away, for Christmas, 7 full-featured mobile games. Unfortunately I can’t seem to find the ones compatible with my Sony-Ericsson v630i, but for you all Smartphone and Symbian series owners, it might be a perfect Christmas goodie. Go out there and enjoy yourself!
